alright. before i begin to elaborate on my rather mundane life, i would like to express my amazement and surprise that there are people from the other side of the globe reading this dull piece of writing. therefore, from now on, i shall try my best to write in standard english, though my level of english is not that outstanding. hahaz. we as citizens who are proud of our country (hopefully. hahaz) should not do anything to spoil our country's image in the world, especially on the sensitive topic of "Singlish" (which is my favourite language!).
ok, back to topic. first of all, i would like to express my thanks to my friends who had given me their blessings (in certain circumstances, in disguise) on the most important day in my life every year. hahaz. grandpa francis. daddy gabriel. win2. dawnie. yan ling. darling son evelyn. samuel my fav hedgehog. princess pei xuan. uncle hui yan. Jar^net. amir mummy. iris biao jie. ah bu jasmine. steph. ah foo. n last but not least...Dreyz frm US! heez. Thanx dears! you all make me feel so loved. hahaz. and Dreyz if you are reading this, I would like to wish you a Happie Belated Birthday! hahaz. i am so sorry. i didnt mean to forget to leave a tag on your tagboard. but i know you don't mind right? it's the thought that matters. heez. when you come back to singapore then we go n celebrate together! yeahz! went for the dvc briefing w yee ke-ow in the morning on THE day. we were late and it was my fault. heez. anyway we met sam who is becoming prettier and slimmer. sighz. i am jealous! *sobs...* We listened to the same things being repeated again and again. hahaz. it's my 4th briefing with dvc and it's really very boring so i was busily whispering to yee ke-ow and sam. and sam surprised me with a box of chocolate as my birthdae present! i was so touched! because i jokingly told her that it was my birthday the day before and she gave me the expected groans and denial that she heard anything. so i wasn't expecting anything but the gesture is really nice. *beams* and i just received the email from dvc that i am employed for the first week of the camp. which is to say i will be earning money soon! yeahz!!! after the briefing which ended late, yee ke-ow and i went to town to have lunch and just chatted aimlessly. hahaz. she flew off to zimbabwe later tt night/wee morning. though 5 months ago, i was on the team and all of us were so full of hope and excitement for the trip, i was glad that i left the organisation back then. the events those who are still in the team had being through the past 4 months affirmed my decision to leave is correct. All the best, girls! Remember to prevent THAT guy from making the zimbabwe orphans cry ok? i met up w boon2. xiang2. xiu li and yii ean after lunch and we went...shopping! we bought 2 pieces of cake from coffee bean and they sang happie birthdae song for me! so touched. finally, there are people who sang happie birthdae song for me. hahaz. because we couldnt find the candles or lighter, so i had to 'pretend' that i am making a wish before blowing out the non existent candle. we took quite a few photos and would post them up as soon as i find a good picture host where i can organise my photos. hmmz. any recommendation? the nicest present i received this year is the shirt tt has my name and initials sewned by xiu li! i was so touched that tears formed and threatened to roll down. thanks dears! i am really glad that i have you all as my friends. thanks for helping me these past 4 years. without you all, i would be really lost. hmmz. they also bought me this pink piggy which actual purpose is to hold my glasses! it look so cute! hahaz. and we had dinner at this cafe next to subway in cinelesiure complex. the food is not bad though the service can be improved on. heez. the next day, i went out with my darling son. heez. and definitely, we went shopping. we are each other best shopping pal! bought quite a few things and darling gave me this really cute elephant cuddly toy which i hanged on my bag now. we went to the v8 westbarn cafe (not very sure of the name) at bugis junction for lunch and the ambiance is really nice! the grilled chicken chop is good too! now it's the time to reply tag. hahaz. anon. you still have not answer my questions! tsktsk! so what are you doing now? your work is? anyway, i agree with you especially on the hype over tourism related jobs due to the construction of the IRs. truthfully speaking, i want to go into the tourism/hospitality industry regardless of the IRs. it happens that the IRs are going to be completed just as i am graduating. i didn't choose this. i feel honoured that you hold me in such high regards (or is it the school?) therefore you should know that i would have consider this issue carefully. perhaps you do not know me in person, but my friends know that i do alot of thinking before i set myself in certain direction. i feel that with my personality i am suited to the hospitality industry and regarding the 'servant' part, i guess i just want to see how far i can go in the service industry. i don't have high ambitions such as regional manager of XXX hotel chain but a small manager in a department is good enough for me. As for the salary, as long I wouldnt starve to death and it's around 2000 +/- 200 bucks per month at the start is ok. What i am searching for is the fulfilment to a dream. a childhood dream that i have been holding dear all these years. when i feel that i have done justice to myself/my dream perhaps i would leave the industry then and pursue my second goal in life. i am foolish but i am happily being foolish. and i guess that's the most important part. i didn't choose to be in the situation i am in now. i wanted to go to hotel schools and i even received a partial (small) scholarship from one of them but i couldn't afford it. it's as simple as that. it's right to be realistic but i need to be realistic and practical. i wanted so badly to go to that hotel school because i know all the advantages it can give me. but what can i do without money? money makes the world go round. and it's true. and the next best thing is this path that i am preparing to go down. i don't mind hard work. my colleagues at IRAS can testify that i am a workaholic (though i was never a hardworking student) and since both my dreams (either hotel manager or doctor) require hard work i guess i just need to do it and make sure i reach my goal. it's not the monetary benefits that count (but definitely i must not be poor lahz!) but the sense of accomplishment and the ability to tell yourself that i have done myself proud. perhaps one day i would have regrets but as for now i guess i am pretty set on it. my dream of becoming a doctor has being forcefully postponed. so lets just hope that my dream of working as a hotelier will come true. or else...i would need to start searching for a new direction in life. hmmz. i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 5:11 pm
