today is the end of my 3rd week at work. it's unbelievable how time flies when one has never ending work to do. first day at work i was informed that i am already part of an events committee that deals with birthday celebrations and other branch related events. i also received news about my first project that same day. the second project was made known to me last week but luckily, i am just the covering officer for my colleague. the third project was revealed to me on tuesday. please bear in mind it's only my 3rd week at work.
thus these 3 weeks passed in a blur lahz. training took up majority of the time with doing events related stuff taking up the rest of the time. i even worked over time last saturday. unbelievable. and to make things more memorable. i was lashed at by an angry taxpayer yesterday just because i asked him for his contact number. all i can say is that i m really not lucky lahz. suffering from personal insults, curses and swear words will be part and parcel of my life soon. at least most of the time i m dealing with either directors or tax agents since my work centred around corporate tax or gst. at least these tax payers are more civilised and understanding and i am very thankful for that. but to make everything much more bearable. i have very very nice and helpful colleagues who come to my rescue every now and then when i am blur/dont know the answers to questions raised/faced difficulties in finding the necessary information. seriously, i think that the environment make up for everything. and i am grateful that i belong to the same team as them. i hope i am able to stand on my feet real soon and stop relying on them because on monday, our peak period will begin. time to revise my notes and remember all the procedures this weekend. besides work, the most memorable thing will be my graduation le. hahahahaz. and so on monday. 27th july. i closed another chapter in my life. it's good to realise tt despite not making many friends in university, at least i still meet alot of people. maybe i will never be as close to them compared to my ny or rj friends. but i am still glad that we met each other in our lives. on monday. at one point of time. i just stood in one place and grab people to take photos with me. hahahahahaz. thanks to shi min. xiang2 and sok for coming all the way to ntu to accompany me =) and thanx for the macarons! to be honest. i dont have a sense of belonging to ntu. maybe it's because i didnt stay in hall nor participate in any camps or cca. but i felt very touched when one of my professors, prof lee, called out to me to take photos with him. i am such a nobody in sch but he actually remember me. i will always remember his kind guidance and i am honoured to be one of his many students. even though i dont like the school but i am thankful to the sch still. because it gave mi the once in a lifetime opportunity to go on exchange to a country/region which was once my wildest dream. this exchange changed my life in many ways and i will always cherish those experiences and memories. and of course, i went to take many many many graduation photos with different group of people. first with my close group of sec 4 friends. and then with my exchange group of friends. i also took some self taken shots with my family but we are going to take studio family shot soon lahz...to fulfill my mama's wish of having one huge photo in the house showing everyone the 5 graduates (my brother. sister in law. sister. brother in law. and myself) and two grandchildren. with that i guess this chapter of my life is officially closed. maybe one day i will don a graduation gown again. hopefully it will be the one that i had always wanted for myself. in the meanwhile i am going to work hard. pay off my loans and...continue to travel. what is life without the experiences? i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 8:02 pm
sometimes i wonder. do anyone know how i feel really?
one of the most minor things can set me off recently. suddenly feel like wallowing in self pity. suddenly feel unappreciated. maybe it's because what happened today. or maybe it's because what had happened so far in these 3 weeks. maybe i am stressed. it will be ok after one night sleep. i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 11:24 pm
i kinda think that is something wrong with me. aka. pms-ing. i get irritated with some people over stuff that normally wouldn't make me irritated (at least after prolonged period. ok maybe now is that limit of the prolonged period)
it's getting tiring to be the one doing the planning and organising when people dont bother replying to your 3rd sms on the same qn or when people cant be bothered to come at all. in other words. i feel unappreciated. to my dear ny clique of frens who are reading this. no i am not talking about you all because i know that as long as i organise. all of you will try to come as far as possible and i really luv you all very very much for it. thank you for making all my efforts worthwhile. i am really very happy to have you all as my frens. i dont mind organising as long as the people involved makes an effort to come. and of course if i have the time. i am starting work tomorrow. starting driving lessons latest by next week. to be honest. i am sure if i dont organise the birthday gatherings. i think no one will remember. and of course. no one will bother coming up with the presents too. so far... i have always been the one who settled the presents etc. i am getting tired. really. i cant be bothered anymore. anyway moving onto happier topic... i went for stephanie sun's concert yesterdae with darling son and uncle hui yan! =) it was very good!!! though i think singapore indoor stadium's sound system is really terrible. but most importanly our seats are fabulous! right smack in the centre. row no 8. with my 10 times optical zoom. my shots of her are really... those collection cards worthy. HAHAHAHA. anyone interested? =) i am willing to sell at a nominal price. shall post them up soon when i find the time. but the rush after the concert is really memorable manx. we almost couldnt board the last bus bound for amk mrt station and we had to run like mad for the last train that was bound for jurong east. and i caught the 2nd last bus home. total madness. and i would like to say a big thank you to my dear darling for putting up with me yesterday and waiting for me. I LOVE YOU DARLING! on a side note. my head is way too BIG. =( because of it. when i collected the graduation gown from tania... my mortar board was too small! =((( saddd. i have a monstrous head. =( and i spent some hours clearing part of my wardrobe the other day and discovered the unbelievable number of t-shirts i have! unfortunately. out of the maybe 80 t-shirts or more. most are linked to events aka they cant be wore out t-shirts. sad siah. oh well. and i finally realised how girls shop during sales. thanks to joey and tania. i have never ever tried on clothes in the public until yesterday when tania wanted to see how a dress she wanted to buy will look with collared shirt. and guess what. i like the combination so much that i bought that dress too. omg. wish me luck tomorrow. once again. a plea to people to come find me for lunch if you are in the novena area. thanks =) i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 9:29 pm
i am 6 days away from starting work at iras. apparently i am not supposed to tell anyone i m working for iras...but i guess it's ok lahx. as long as i dont mention anything about my job or anything i should be fine. confidentiality is the rule.
so calling all medical students. working adults. who are in the vicinity of novena. please ask me out for lunch. thanks. it's greatly appreciated. i am worried i have to eat lunch alone because that was what i did in the first week of my internship at ocbc 2 years ago. and so it's apparent i have settled my career for the time being. i signed contract last last friday after doing badly for caas interview on thursday. sighx. but i am proud of myself for being one of the 13 people out of dont know how many people who took the tests to pass the first round. hahahaz. at least i tried. and not forgetin the drama that unfolded last last last thursday. hahahax. uob called me the same time as iras did and got through so iras was diverted to voicemail. so i had no choice but to tell uob i accept their offer but i pushed the signing of contract to 1 week later. when i hang up i realised that i have voicemail from iras and when i tried calling them. i couldnt get through and i panicked. hahahahaz. i was really very very happie when they told me they are offering mi a position. so happie that i couldnt stop jumping around the room. hahahahahaz. so i accepted iras too...their efficiency is amazing. interview on wed. offer on thurs. just because i told them uob want an answer on thurs. amazing. though i think i didnt do that well for the interview. but i am really very very grateful that they still hire me. and so i spent the past few days...meeting up with people. watching dramas. slacking. reading. before i start work. not forgetting shopping and ended up with 4 pairs of shoes one sunday. HAHAHA. i even went for steamboat and the treetop walk with the usual exchange group of friends. hahahaz. though i am quite disappointed with the...view in the end. time really flies. sometimes i feel hurt by what other people said. but i guess they dont understand lahz. or maybe it's because i dont want to explain. i dont see the point in explaining. i have faith in myself. and if you can. please remind me about my dream whenever i lose myself among everything else. i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 6:37 pm
