my newest record. 10pm.
i still remember in my first month at work, when i heard that a few of my collegues stayed until 9pm to finish up their work on a rather regular basis, i was rather shocked. i dun understand why they had to do that. during my that not-so-long-ago honeymoon period, i left on the dot at 6pm or 6.30pm latest. but sadly it seem like a faraway dream now and it doesnt seem to be ever coming back. OT-ing is so commonly associated with me that when i have gatherings on weekdays evening, everyone will sms me to ask me if i had leave office. the recently passed week, i left work at 9pm on tuesday and 10pm on thursday. monday i left at 7pm so tt i can go home to enjoy homecooked dinner. wednesday at 6.20pm because i went to catch district 9 before it goes off screen. and my colleagues actually spoke in a surprised tone 'you are leaving on time today?' as for friday, i gave myself a break and left at 6.15pm (let off time at 5.30pm every friday instead of the usual 6pm) so tt i can go for a very very short swim. headache has become my best buddy and it never fails to look me up at least twice every week. and i m thinking of switching to wear specs from now onwards becoz my eyes are so tired after wearing contact lens for more than 16 hours daily. to think it's only my 2nd month into the job. i am not complaining abt work in terms of job scope or anything and definitely not about the culture. but i am frustrated with my inefficiency at times. why isst that i had to stay back so much while the rest of my colleagues dun have to? yes the extra paper work i had to put up for every case i handled do take up a substantial amount of time, but it still boils down to the fact that i am not as effective as i want to be. and to be very honest. after i started working, my social circle has narrowed so much that at times, i don't even go out for the entire week. hahahahaz. it's time to force myself to do something every weekend. whether it's to go laze in some park and read or do my forgotten cross-stitch or to sketch, but i really need to get away from the computer and breathe some fresh air. and i found another fun activity to do in singapore... kite-flying! =) it's quite fun and it helps that i own a pooh kite. hahahahaz. and i think it's time i learn to do things on my own e.g. visit exhibitions, exercise (well i swim alone), shop (i need to buy the much needed bookshelf soon) and in future, even travel on my own (though i really really hope i don't have to resort to that). shall take a good rest today and prepare for the battle tomorrow. maybe i should start counting down to my taipei trip just like what i did for my swiss exchange and tokyo trip. though it's more than 100 days away but at least it's something to look forward to. starting driving lessons tomorrow. wish me all the best and my instructor good luck. i hope i don't spoil his car during my first lesson. i miss you. i believe in miracles becoz i would be much happier if i do @ 1:12 pm
